In conjunction with National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, Long Cane Elementary Student Council hosted a very successful canned food drive earlier this month. Students were encouraged to bring in canned foods to help families in need in our community and they rose to the challenge. Long Cane Elementary students collected seven donation barrels and eight packing boxes full of canned foods to donate to the local Salvation Army. On Friday, November 18th, they celebrated Dreaming of a World Without Hunger Day. Students and staff who brought in a canned food items were also able to wear their pajamas to school!
