Last week was a week of fun, learning and reading for Troup County School System students as they marked Dr. Seuss’s Birthday and Read Across
America Day with fun-filled festivities.
Community volunteers became storytellers in classrooms across the county as adults read their favorite books to students in hopes of encouraging literacy and reading. Some of those guests included Mayor Jim Thornton, Sheriff James Woodruff, and LaGrange High Athletic Director Mike Pauley. Students from LaGrange High also took time to read to elementary students at Franklin Forest.
