08/21/17: TCSS Prepares for New Elementary School on South Davis Road New ES

On Thursday, the Board of Education voted to accept the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) Package from Carroll Daniel Construction Company for site work at the New Elementary School to be located on South Davis Road. This package includes site work in preparation for roadways, foundation work, electrical, water and sewer, and site improvements for the new school.

The New Elementary School, which has not been named, is scheduled to open August 2018. The construction and building of the facility was approved in the Education SPLOST 5 which was approved by Troup County residents in May 2016. 
 

8/21/17: Troup High Students Can Win a Car for Good Behavior, Attendance and Grades THS Car

As Troup County School System (TCSS) new attendance policy builds momentum, some schools and community partners have found a ‘vehicle’ to encourage students to be on time, in attendance, and have positive behavior.

Today, Troup County Comprehensive High School (THS) announced a partnership with KIA of LaGrange to give away a car at the end of the school year. The winning student must have good grades, good attendance, and good behavior.

8/14/17: State School Superintendent Advisory Task Force Call for Applicants

State School Superintendent Richard Woods is seeking middle and high school students to serve on his 2017-2018 Student Advisory Council. These students will meet with Superintendent Woods to discuss the impact of state policies in the classroom, along with other issues related to education, and will serve as the Superintendent’s ambassadors to their respective schools.

Applicants must be enrolled in a Georgia public middle or high school for the 2017-18 school year. To apply:
