For the first time in the 59-year history of the Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) luncheon hosted by Rotary Club, two students walked away with the honor. They are Anna Davis, Troup High and John Whitlow, LaGrange Academy.
For the past 59 years, a top academic senior in each participating Georgia high school is named the STAR student for that high school. Created to focus public attention on Georgia’s outstanding students and teachers, this program showcases the academic achievement of students and a chosen educator who was instrumental in their development.
