Last week, THINC College & Career Academy (THINC) hosted a hands-on learning session focused on careers in manufacturing and mechatronics. The day-long event brought these industries to the forefront for high school students across Troup County. Students attending have shown an interest in pursuing these career fields in the future.
During the session, facilitators shared ways for the ninth-through-twelfth graders to prepare for successful careers while still in high school. Making the time shared relevant to the students, the facilitators showed a continuum of paths from high school to college and then into the workforce of the future. In addition, a diverse group of speakers from Hyundai MOBIS, West Georgia Technical College, THINC, and the LaGrange Troup County Chamber of Commerce related their experiences before the group of 45 students gathered for a guided tour of the THINC and West Georgia Technical College campuses.
