For a number of years, Communities in Schools (CIS) has been a part of providing programs and success outcomes to Troup County School System (TCSS) students. The main goal of CIS is to surround students with a community of support and empower them to stay in school and succeed in their future. Last week, at a Callaway Middle School CIS meeting, June Nelson stepped in to mentor 20 young ladies about their future.
Callaway Middle School’s CIS Site Coordinator, Stephanie Williams, recognized the need to have young ladies engage in self-esteem and empowerment classes.
