Caitlyn Snyder believes in teaching her Exceptional Education students at Troup High School (THS) self-advocacy skills and life lessons that provide them independence beyond the classroom. “It is important for my students to advocate for themselves. They need to communicate their needs and wants, so that is what I teach in my class,” she says. 


As an Exceptional Education instructor and first year teacher at her Troup High alma mater, she teaches a small class of six to eight students who may need additional assistance with everyday activities. She doesn’t view her students as special needs, “I know they have the ability to learn, and they do.
