Health Education is a half semester course that is needed in order to graduate.  The goal of this course is to make students aware of their health and to strive for first-class personal health.  Students in this course will develop a better understanding of their physical, mental/emotional, and social health.

The students will develop a better understanding of their physical, mental and social well-being by completing the following units: 

Unit 1

  • Chapter 1 Understanding Health and Wellness
  • Chapter 2 Taking Charge of Your Health
  • ADAP—Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program
  • Chapter 4 Managing Stress and Coping with Loss

Unit 2

  • Chapter 10 Nutrition for Health
  • Chapter 12 Physical Activity and Fitness
  • Chapter 14 Skeletal Muscular and Nervous Systems
  • Chapter 16 Endocrine and Reproductive Health

Unit 3

  • Chapter 20 Tobacco
  • Chapter 22 Illegal Drugs
  • Chapter 24 STDs and HIV/AIDS
  • Chapter 27 First Aid and Emergencies
