Welcome to Environmental Science!!!!!

 

OVERVIEW OF COURSE

Environmental Science is  a year-long course that explores the interrelationships of the natural world as well as their issues  and solutions.  This course will integrate the study of many components of our environment, including how humans impact and change our planet.  This course will promote student awareness and understanding of practical every day problems that affect their lives.  Students are expected to participate in discussions, labs and activities as well as complete all  assignments.

Grades will be assigned based on tests, class work, homework, projects, and labs.

EOC/Final Exam                    20%

  • Major - 40% (unit tests, mid unit tests, benchmarks, major projects, essays, performance tasks, etc.)
  • Minor- 40% (quizzes, minor projects, minor writing assignments, homework)
  • Feedback - 0% (homework, classwork, participation, signed papers, formative assessments, etc.)
  • Final Exam/ EOC- 20%   

 

 

MATERIALS NEEDED FOR CLASS

  1. Spiral 5-subject notebook (200 pages)  
  2. Pencils and/or Pens    
  3. Five different colored highlighters 
  4. BYOD (electronic bring-your-own-device with internet capabilities) (Strongly encouraged)
