Touchdown Bulldogs! West Point Elementary School is getting in the game with a good book. The Read for the Win reading challenge recently kicked off at WPE with a pep rally complete with music, games, reading cheers, and the Troup High School cheerleaders. During the last two weeks of September, students can participate in the Read for the Win challenge and score points for reading books on their Lexile level. One book earns a first down and a bookmark, two books earn a field goal and a football pencil, and three books earn a touchdown and a picture on the Wall of Winners. At the end of the two weeks, the class with the highest percentage of points will win their choice of an ice cream or pizza party. There will be one class winner in grades K-2 and one class winner in grades 3-5.
