Students in grades 8 through 11 have the opportunity to “test out” of select high school courses and earn credit by achieving a score in the Distinguished category on the End of Course (EOC) test associated with 9th Grade Lit and Comprehension, American Lit and Comprehension, Algebra, Geometry, US History, Economics, Biology or Physical Science.  Students wishing to participate in this opportunity must complete the application by clicking HERE and submitting to their current school by May 15.   The student’s application will be reviewed and notified by May 22 of their clearance to participate in the “test out” session.  When notified of clearance, arrangement will be made for the payment of $50 per test. Checks should be made payable to Troup County Schools and received by June 12, 2020 or agreed upon date.    The “test out” opportunity this school year will be during the week of August 3, 2020.  The exact date and time of the assessment will be communicated to students that are eligible to participate as soon as schools receive direction from the state for reopening schools for students.

Students scoring in the Distinguished category will be awarded class credit and will be refunded the $50 testing fee.  Students not scoring in the Distinguished category will not receive class credit and will not be refunded the testing fee.

It should be noted that the state of Georgia is reviewing current EOC practices/requirements and may reduce the number of EOC’s required.  Should a student request to participate in the “test out” session and the state changes requirements; the student will receive a full refund.
