05/27/20: Madalyn Bozeman Places in SkillsUSA State Competition Madalyn

Congratulations to the LHS SkillsUSA team. Madalyn Bozeman placed third in the Advertising Design competition. The event turned to online means so students would be able to compete.

SkillsUSA sponsor and LHS teacher, Heather Evans said, “I am so excited the state continued with the competition. My students were able to participate despite the craziness that has surrounded everyone over the last couple of months. The participants deserve a pat on the back for competing and pushing through the changes.”

05/26/20: THS SkillsUSA Chapter Earns Gold Distinction Gold Distinction

Recently, Troup High School earned the honor of Gold Chapter of Distinction from SkillsUSA. They are one of nine schools across the state to earn the honor.

During this time, students planned activities like setting SMART goals, establishing budgets, and securing funding. For the competition, participants chose one activity that supported one area of the SkillsUSA Framework: Personal Skills, Workplace Skills, or Technical Skills grounded in Academics. After completing the application process, SkillsUSA judges selected the chapters that have excelled.

05/25/20: Michael Miller Prepares for Georgia State Michael Miller

Michael Miller is a young man of few words, but his presence makes a powerful punch like it did his first two years as a football player at LaGrange High School. Now that he is about to graduate, he knows his time at both LaGrange and THINC College & Career Academy was meaningful and helped him finalize his postsecondary plans. Preparing for Georgia State University will be bittersweet for Miller because he will miss being a member of Future Business Leaders of America and the THINC Robotics class.
