02/15/18: Troup County School System Reviews Security Measures

LCMS Doors

In light of the Parkland events, TCSS is reviewing and evaluating our emergency response procedures. Each building administrator is doing the same.

Safety is no accident and every precautionary effort we make ensures the well-being of our students and staff. Administrators are visible at each school, doors are locked, and our staff and faculty are reviewing safety protocols.

We have great employees in TCSS, an excellent relationship with local law enforcement, and our SRO’s are a huge asset to our efforts. They are integral to our daily routines and communication efforts among our schools’ teams.

We all play an important role in creating a safe learning environment at school, so take a moment today to talk to your child or children about the importance of safety. Let them know it is okay to say something if they see something. School is no place for a weapon or anything that can be mistaken as a weapon. Please reinforce these messages with your child.
