This is my 13th year teaching in a self-contained setting at Gardner Newman Middle School. I enjoy teaching students outside the boundaries of the 'normal curriculum'. My students enjoy learning math and reading skills with the incorporation of cooking and other real-life experiences.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Criminology from the University of West GA. I first started teaching at an outdoor therapeutic program with Twin Cedars. I worked with various types of students and learned about using a student centered approach for each child I have worked with.
I obtained my master’s degree in the Art of Teaching from Columbus State University while teaching at Griffin High School.
