GMAS Testing Information


- Georgia Milestones will begin on April 27th.  Attendance is critical!!! Students need plenty of sleep and their charged chromebooks each day!

Traditional students will be dismissed at noon on April 27 - 30 after testing is complete.  (This is a big adjustment...all face to face students will be dismissed at noon Tuesday - Thursday of this week!)

- VIrtual students will test in the afternoons of April 27 - 30.  Students must provide their own transportation and should be dropped off at the school at 12:05 and picked up no later than 3:25 each day.  Virtual parents must complete this form in order to reserve a spot for testing.  LCMS Virtual Testing Social distancing, masks, temperature checks and all Covid protocols will be upheld.

05/06/21: BWES Thanks Teachers for Appreciation Week Teacher Appreciation

Berta Weathersbee Elementary School is so thankful for their teachers and staff and recently they were showered with special treats. In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, First Presybyterian Church, one of BWE's Partners in Education, provided a Chick-fil-A breakfast one morning as well as snacks and notes of encouragement. The administrative team provided a Waffle House breakfast and donuts and coffee and the PTO provided lunch one day. The teachers and staff are thankful for the recognition.

05/06/21: TCSS to Purge Old Gifted Records

The Troup County School System will purge records of gifted students who graduated in May 2020.
Gifted students/their parent or guardian may claim their gifted records by calling the Exceptional Education Center at 706-812-7939 by June 30, 2021.  Unclaimed records will be destroyed after July 1, 2021.
Records will be released to former students or their parent/guardian only.  A photo ID is required.

05/06/21: TCSS Announces Budget Hearing Dates

The Troup County Board of Education announces the dates of two public hearings to
discuss the Fiscal Year 2022 Proposed Tentative Budget.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this proposed Tentative Budget
to be held at the Administrative Services Center Board Room, 100 North Davis Road
Building C, LaGrange, GA on May 10, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.
The time and place of the additional public hearing on this proposed Tentative Budget is at
the Administrative Services Center Board Room, 100 North Davis Road Building C,
LaGrange, GA on May 17, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.
The Fiscal Year 2022 Tentative Budget is set to be approved at the Board of Education
Meeting on May 20, 2021 at 5:30 p.m.
The proposed Tentative Budget can be viewed on the Troup County Board of Education
website at www.troup.org.

05/10/21: WPES Students in Lollipop Pull wpes

It has been a sweet year in the media center at West Point Elementary School. Recently, students who returned their library books by the final due date for the year got to participate in a Lollipop Pull. In addition to the lollipop, students who picked a lollipop with a green stick got a bookmark and if the stick was red they got a free book to keep. 

05/06/21: Hogansville Students Get Ice Cream Ice CCream

Recently, Mr. Talley visited Hogansville Elementary and brought ice cream to all the students after a long week of testing. He always shares his favorite catch-phrase with those he works with, "Remember no matter what you’re going through.. you can always be there to brighten up someone else’s day"!

Troup County Parks and Recreation Department announced their summer registration. It begins April 26th. 

05/04/21: Berta Celebrates Assistants secretary day

The BEST school secretaries are at Berta Weathersbee Elementary School. Recently, the faculty and staff showed their appreciation and support for Joy Moore and Bridget Stanley for all the hard work they do. The two received many notes, messages and gifts, including the gift baskets shown. Pictured are (left to right)  Bridget Stanley, Principal Willie Cooks and Joy Moore.

05/04/21: LaGrange Police Department Helps BWES Celebrate Milestones gmas

Georgia Milestone testing began recently at Berta Weathersbee Elementary School and the LaGrange Police Department stopped by to show them some support. As students arrived at the school, police officers were on hand to wish them good luck and remind them to do their best on the test! Berta Weathersbee appreciates the support from the community.

05/03/21: HES Thanks Staples for Supply Donation Staples

Hogansville Elementary would like to give a huge thank you to Staples and all of the generous donors who donated school supplies to the school. 

This donation will help replenish supplies and help students finish the year. HES appreciates Staples and the community for their continuous support for TCSS. Staples donated over $12,000 worth of supplies to each TCSS elementary school.

04/21/21: Junior University Sign-up Information ju flyer

Parents of students who will be attending Junior University this summer, please take a moment to register for orientation or a drive-thru orientation event. You can sign-up right now by going to THIS LINK.

1. Choose a date and time.

2. New student orientation is mandatory before your child attends Junior University

3. Due to limited spacing, only a student and parent should attend.

Are you a virtual student that would like to return to the traditional classroom?  Follow these steps!
  1. Complete the electronic Return to School Intent Form by Tuesday, December 1, 2020.  https://forms.gle/Y53J8Zd6PNCetH6u8
    • Parents must complete one form per student.
  2. Obtain a schedule for return to in-person classes.
    • Schedules will be available via Infinite Campus.  
  3. Return to school on Tuesday January 5, 2021                                                                                                        


 **  If students are virtual learners and wish to remain in Troup County Virtual Academy, there is no action needed.

How to Check Out eBooks


To access Follett Destiny eBooks go to

Log-in using school username and password (name@students.troup.org and 5-digit number).

Scroll down until you see eBooks.

Select "See All".

Books marked "Green-In" are available to check out and books marked "Red-Out" are currently unavailable.

Click "Open" to preview book or "Checkout" to select title.

Once books are checked out, access them from the main menu:

Click on the three lines in the upper left hand corner.

Scroll to checkouts.

Students can access their book from here on most devices (Chromebooks, iPads, cell phones, laptops and desktops).

Return books when done reading.

eBooks can be also be accessed through the Follett Destiny app.
